A Wonderful Family Weekend

Our four-day weekend started off with a beautiful day of family adventure. The four of us picked strawberries (I did most of the picking, Jack and Sarah the eating and my husband the wrangling), then went for ice cream and then threw the kids in the baby pool in the backyard while we made grilled pizzas. It was some perfect family time.

The best shot this week, I have to say, belongs to my husband. In between herding the kids through rows of strawberries, he snapped this picture of our little strawberry.

I didn't even crop it or edit it in any way. It is perfect just as it is.

But not to be outdone, I have also included my own best shot. Sarah has discovered the fun of playgrounds. She can climb up steps all by herself and even flings head first down slides!

On Memorial Day, I especially think about my Poppop who served in World War II. I can not imagine how difficult it was for him. I only know of brief stories of his experiences, including a Christmas Eve when he stole an officer's jeep so he could drive to a church to go to a service because he had never missed church on Christmas Eve.

As a mother I am grateful to those who serve our country because it is an important and necessary job. Thank you for keeping my family safe. Jenny took the words right out of my mouth.

Love pics of babies/toddlers barreling forward, faces to the wind. Beautiful.

Both great shots. I keep thinking I have to take Zoe strawberry picking. I think she'd eat her way across the field though. haha

Great pictures! Kudos to hubby for getting in on the photography action. We went strawberry picking a couple weeks ago. Although with just me and the girl, not many berries got picked!
