Summer

Dear, regular readers, I know I haven't been doing much writing lately, but I have been taking a lot of pictures. So for the summer, I'm taking a vacation from writing. I still like to write. I still want to write. Theoretically since my kids aren't in school, the summer should be just like any other time of year for us. But it is just so much busier! We are on the go all the time and getting ready for vacations and all sorts of adventures.

So, please consider me on summer vacation. I will return with more to write when the weather cools off. I mean, who can be expected to string together words into coherent thoughts when halfway through the day I swear my deodorant has stopped working and I can't bear to sit at the computer and smell myself. (Maybe that would make a good segue into this Thursday's theme, drip... ew.)

Besides, I may never write again if I could just communicate my thoughts on life through pictures like these.

I like how I caught her face with the wind blowing her hair and her mouth mid-word. She was sing-songing, "Mama."

See how other people are spending their summer over at Picture This.

Oh my.... how old she looks in that picture!!! I do love how you caught her in the breeze.

I'm finding it tough to find the time and energy to write, also. We just spend so much time doing so much outside. It's much easier to sneak in a little typing while we're stuck inside. I do find myself thinking I really have so much to share though... since we're doing so many summer fun things. Maybe just posting more pictures/less words is the way to go?

Isn't it amazing how a picture can say more than a thousand words? I really love that photo. Have a great summer vacation!

Jaw dropping. Don't know why. Just made me gasp. I guess, wondering what was going on in her little head there............she is edible.

Oh my gosh, that picture is totally fantastic! Superb capture...LOVE the windblown hair and open mouth, and the DOF is pretty rockin' too.

I can relate "summer vacation." I'm too addicted to not post at all, but my posts have been short and sweet lately. But without realizing it I also took a vacation from the camera - yikes, I'll have to make up for it this week!

Made me tear up. Beautiful! Singing Mama . . . too wonderful for words!

Agreed. Who needs words with photos like this. I can hear her..."mama".
She's precious.

That expression is priceless. You should try it in black and white, too. It would give it a timeless effect. (Don't mind me. I'm a B&W freak! LOL). All your pictures are wonderful. Thank God for our kids or camera companies would make no money!

I love the colors in your picture! I tease my husband that I'd grow so much as a photographer if only we had kids... :)

I guess I'll have to take pictures of the cat in the meantime. Ha ha!
