A New Day

For the first time I paid attention to all of the debates. For the first time I watched the news intently, soaking in and weighing every issue, endorsement, critiquing every televised remark. I understand how many of the issues in this election will or would have impacted my own life and I am excited.
I am mostly excited because I got to vote yesterday. I got to take my children to vote and to show them what excitement about a presidential election can be like.
I am excited because I am ready for a new day for our country.
