Having a single soda makes me feel like myself again. I feel like I am sitting the appropriate distance from the computer and not blearily falling into the keyboard, squinting my eyes to read the screen. I do not rudely yawn throughout conversations giving the impression of boredom or apathy for what someone is saying. I can actually plan something to eat for dinner and prepare for it accordingly ahead of time rather than be blindsided by 4:30 when I think, boy, I'm getting hungry.
I anticipate that there will be a day where I can go to bed at a reasonable hour and sleep, uninterrupted, until morning. A day when I can happily hop out of bed and clean the house, do laundry, bake something, clean out a closet, all before the children wake up to a happy, bright-eyed, ready-to-play mama. That day is not today. That day is not tomorrow. That day is probably not in the near future. But it will come.
And so, Diet Dr. Pepper has returned to my fridge. Oh, caffeine, I can't live without you right now.

Jack had a few words to add:
aaaajjjjjdddddddjjjjj
Translation:
The first word, "aaaajjjjj" is "Jack."
The second, "ddddddd" is "daddy."
And the third, "jjjjj" is "mommy" because "you start with J like me." (My non-mommy name, that is.)

new to your blog, but I feel your pain, sister! I can NOT live without Coke right now. My little one is 6 months old and still wakes up every two hours to eat. I have not slept for more than three hours straight since I was pregnant.
I'm totally and completely addicted to caffiene. I can't live without it. But really, when you compare it to a heroine addiction I don't think we have to worry too much about it.
I have tried to cut back to one Coke ever other day, but it is really hard. I feel your pain.
A few years ago I was told by doctors to cut all caffeine and chocolate from my diet. (I succeeded with caffeine. I REFUSE to cut out chocolate.) I replaced my caffeine addiction with a yerba mate addiction. Guayaki brand is available in some stores, but I buy loose tea in bulk online because it's less expensive.
If we can finally find time to get together one of these days, I'll have to give you some to try! I'm know to friends as a mate pusher. My shipments come in large plastic bags from California... by the kilo...
